In most forums, you are allowed to create a signature either using BBCode or html. This signature is attached to any comment you make on the forum. You should use this wisely. Put a link to the website you are trying to promote in your signature The best way to do this is to use words that will get the readers attention and have the link to your website be an anchor text that contains your keywords. Talk about a double whammy!
You get a link to your site so human visitors can come via that link to your site But you also get an anchor link that contributes to your search engine optimization efforts. Now remember I emphasized PARTICIPATION earlier There is a reason for this.
It just will not do leaving a single comment on a forum and then moving on. You need to join the discussion, establish a reputation, gain some trust. Of course, this takes time and effort. Also remember that people will only click on your link if you have something useful to say.
