Wordpress Has A New Fan

Blogger for a long time was my preferred blogging platform. It's easy to use, search engine friendly and you can integrate it with your own hosting account. As with all things blogging, there is an inbuilt RSS feed which you can customize and a plethora of templates But recently I thought I'd give Wordpress a test run. Wordpress is a content management system that is very suited to blogging but can be used to build static pages. And from my interactions with other webmasters, I know that Wordpress has it's army of fans.... I just did not realize that I would become one of them So why am I overflowing with enthusiasm for this platform Versatility. Wordpress is very versatile. Probably because of the number of plug ins and add on that you can add to it to increase functionality of one sort or the other. You can build a very basic blog or opt to build an all singing all dancing web space Templates. There is a large number of free templates that you can download online for your Wordpress blog. Be it two column, three column, magazine style template, you can usually find a suitable one free online Easy to Use. Now I know there is a bit of a learning curve with getting to grips with Wordpress. But once you have mastered the basics, the rest is pretty intuitive. It took me about an hour to get my first page up and running but now it takes a couple of minutes to add a new post. Potential. I just cannot help but think, if they have managed to do all this with it, what is in store for us. The potential is amazing and I for one am excited about the plug ins still being developed by some smart programmer out there for us to use perhaps tomorrow |
